The Diabetes O.C. has been such a huge factor in my life for the past four years, I simply can’t express my gratitude.
You have all helped me through many hard times, shared my successes and failures, and encouraged me to keep going when all I wanted to do was throw in the towel.

I have learned many new things, related to diabetes and otherwise, many of which have made me a better person than I was.

I have made so many friends, many of which I’ve never even met (but look forward to meeting someday), who affect how I life my life every day.

I sincerely appreciate all of you for being who you are, sharing what you share, and choosing to let me into your life one blog post at a time.

Thank you.

  5. Don’t forget, Scott, that it was your comment on the Insulin Pump Demystified blog that got me over to the OC……..just like a little trail of Cool Ranch Dorito crumbs that said “follow me”.
You are such and insightful and compassionate person, and I wish you beautiful days ahead.

  12. Early on, when I was so full of fear about this disease– when I wasn’t sure if we were really going to get through that first year after Joseph’s diagnosis — your comments were a tremendous source of comfort.
Since that time, Scott, your blog has given me so much valuable information and insight.
Thank you so much– and Happy D-Blog Day!

Sorry I’m late to the party. I’ve enjoyed reading your posts over the years. Blogging is really a win-win thing. We all benefit from sharing.
I’ll be dressed in blue for World Diabetes Day on Friday. What will you be wearing?

    Hey Scott,
I just came across your blog tonight and I’m so thankful that I did. My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes eight years ago, she was just four years old. We have been very fortunate in that she has never been hospitalized with DKA. We have a friend of hers that is staying with us now for a week or two, she was just diagnosed a few months ago. I am hoping to teach them a few things while learning myself. Diabetes is a day by day, minute by minute struggle that throw punches at you at every turn. Thank you for sharing and for the insight, every bit of information I can get about this life altering disease is a blessing.
    God bless you.

    Hi!
I found your blog via another Swedish blogger tonight. My husband and son both have diabetes type 1 (both of them were diagnosed when they were 11). They have insuline pumps and that’s really good, I think. Their blood sugar stay at better levels now. Yesterday, though, I found out that my son is ashamed over the pump and the infusion plaster on his tummy. He doesn’t want to shower after his P.E. in school and lies about it and says to friends that it’s a pedometer, mobile phone and so on. I feel so sad for him and I really try to pep him, but it’s not easy. I understand that he just wants to be like everybodyelse.
However, I want to thank you Scott for sharing your thoughts. I’ll follow your blog now that I’ve found it.
