“Diabetes is a Funny Word: Humor from the World of the Broken Pancreas”"
My friend, Christopher Thomas, over at Diabetic Rockstar, asked me to help spread the word about a new book they are putting together.
It is called “Diabetes is a Funny Word”, and as the submission guide states it “is a collection of short stories, essays, prose, anecdotes, jokes and other pieces of material that are diabetes-related with a humorous angle and context”.
Christopher says that the purpose of the book is to try and share some humor about the situations we often find ourselves in, and to also raise some money for their non-profit activities, primarily their mentoring program. I think that sounds good.
There are a few ways to get more information on submitting (the deadline is July 31st). You can download a PDF file with submission info and guidelines, follow @diabetesfunny on twitter, take a look at their Facebook page, check out the page on Diabetic Rockstar, or send an e-mail to [email protected].
As Chris says, the more people reached with this project, the better the book will be, and the more good can come from it. Let’s show Chris and the Diabetic Rockstar family some love from everyone here at Diabetes Daily!
