I Support Good People – orange:will – orangewill.org
There are so many great people in the world who are doing great things. Not enough people know about them, and I want to help spread
the word when I can. Unfortunately I’ll never be able to help everybody, but I want to do what I can where I can.
Brandy Barnes has been working hard advocating for women with diabetes, and she’s doing fantastic things. One of her creations is Diabetes Sisters, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose mission is to improve the health and quality of life of women with diabetes, and to advocate on their behalf. It has been wildly successful so far, and is gaining momentum every day.
Diabetes Sisters launched the orange:will campaign a few days ago, and I wanted to help them spread the word. Orange:will is a national campaign that will help establish a greater awareness of the unique challenges faced by women with diabetes, and represents the sheer will and determination required for women to manage their diabetes successfully.
How can you help? Wear orange in support of orange:will on November 5th, and take a moment to visit both orange:will and Diabetes Sisters to learn more and get involved.
Brandy wants to stress that this is in no way competing with the Blue Circle and World Diabetes Day (November 14th). It is a small sign of our support for the strong women living with diabetes. I’m on board with that idea. If you ask me, the strong women living with diabetes deserve much more than what a single day can show.
