I am so excited about this announcement!

We have long talked about health care professionals and our desire for them to recognize the value of peer to peer support. This event may be one of the first steps in a very important evolution of understanding and cooperation.

The Partnering for Diabetes Change Coalition (the same group that brought you the “Spare a Rose, Save a Child” campaign) is hosting a panel discussion featuring a handful of highly respected experts in the clinical and academia world.  The goal is to get an exciting exchange going between these experts and the diabetes online community.

The session is titled “Social Media & The Monster Under the Bed: the Latest Thinking on Fearing vs. Embracing Social Media” and is happening live at the upcoming CWD Friends for Life conference next week. The entire event will also be LIVE STREAMED to anywhere you can get an internet connection — allowing you to participate whether you’re at FFL or not (register for the free live stream)!

Your participation is encouraged, whether you’re at FFL or not. Twitter is the best tool for this and the #P4DC hashtag will be monitored throughout the event.

I’m told that it will also be recorded, so even if you can’t make it live, or watch it live, you’ll be able to check it out.
