#ScottsDeathRide – What in the world?

July 4, 2019 By Scott K. Johnson Leave a Comment

A few months back, my friend Erik Douds talked me into this crazy adventure of cycling 100 miles through DEATH VALLEY to benefit JDRF.

Henceforth affectionately known as #ScottsDeathRide – a.k.a. JDRF Death Valley 2019 Ride to Cure Diabetes! (don’t worry, I’m not going to die)

Join us on our mission to raise $8,000 in support of JDRF while riding our bikes 100 miles in 100-degree heat!

Erik is a professional cyclist who has biked over 10,000 miles. I am not 😎

Along the way, we’ll be talking to many amazing people, doing some social rides (even virtually) and offering great giveaways to get you involved!

Learn more at https://diabadass.com/death-valley/ or donate directly via Facebook. And check out this training ride with my buddy George or this powerful story from Sara about why she rides!

“What have I gotten myself into?” @erikdouds talked me into a long bike ride for @jdrfhq this fall (#ScottsDeathRide) and I’m going to need your help. Erik and I are planning some cool cool stuff to make it an awesome experience for you, too! @erikdouds and I are riding 100 miles in Death Valley this October, which means I’ve got a LOT of training to do! I hope you’ll participate in some virtual training rides with me! FIRST VIRTUAL RIDE THIS WEEKEND To enter the ride: 1) Click the link in bio OR visit www.diabadass.com/death-valley 2) Buy a ticket (donate) to support Team Scott & Erik 3) Go ride ANY time during father’s day weekend or have us ride ON YOUR BEHALF** Be social! Post a photo using the hashtag #ScottsDeathRide Everyone who participates is entered to win some fun giveaway items! We’re thinking @pearlizumiofficial bike gloves, fun @mysugr_us goodie/swag bag, maybe some shades from @revo? You can meet new friends like @pksteffen who is a Level III COACH for JDRF Arizona. He’s an incredibly kind guy who will push you up Mt. Lemmon and bring snacks along the way! Woohoo! Who else needs an excuse to get out and ride? I’m heading up towards L.A. to connect with my homie @ninjabetic and can’t wait! Tag someone you’d like to ride with and get out there! Big shout out and LOTS of love to The Pancremaniacs, @beacon_bonfire, and @mariruddy for bringing me this far in my cycling journey. I freaking love and OWE you guys SO SO much. You have no idea. #ScottsDeathRide #jdrf #tourdecure #livebeyond #fathersday
